Frequently Asked Questions

Have the person or organization schedule an initial consultation through our online scheduler, or reach out through the contact page with a short description of the need. You do not need to know which practice is the right fit. We review each referral, recommend the best starting point within the network, and with consent confirm the connection and next steps with you.
The network includes psychotherapy and coaching through dralanjacobson.com, psychological testing and accommodations documentation through Precision Psychological Assessments, academic and executive function support through Therapeutic Tutoring, and organizational consulting, corporate testing, and leadership development through Foresight Psychological Institute directly. Services can be combined when a client needs more than one, such as an evaluation followed by therapy or tutoring, and the referring professional does not need to coordinate each piece separately.
Yes, with the client’s written consent. We confirm that the referral was received and that the client has connected, and we share updates appropriate to your role, such as evaluation findings, treatment focus, or progress summaries. When more than one service is involved, coordination happens within the network, so you have a single point of contact rather than several separate offices.
Yes. Dr. Jacobson is licensed in Massachusetts, California, New Hampshire, and New York, with a presence in the Boston area and San Diego. PSYPACT authority also permits telepsychology with clients located in participating states across most of the country. Some services, particularly certain testing components, may need to occur in person. The consultation will clarify which format applies to your referral.
Yes. HR leaders, executives, and boards refer for corporate testing, burnout and stress assessments, employee relations during mergers, and recruitment and retention consulting. Individual employees can also be referred for coaching or therapy, with clear boundaries kept between organizational consulting and confidential clinical care. We are glad to discuss how a referral will be structured before anything begins, so expectations around reporting and confidentiality are clear to everyone involved.
The Institute provides outpatient services and is not equipped for emergencies. If someone is at imminent risk, direct them to 911, the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, or the nearest emergency department. Once the person is stable, we are glad to discuss outpatient therapy, testing, or other support and to coordinate with any hospital, intensive program, or psychiatrist involved in their care.
